Photographs of Nel, Western Australian aerial performing artist and teacher in the south west karri-forest-canopy. the images shown here are made using Kodak infra-red-film
These karri forest canopy images are all from the first series, made in January 2005, a second session is in the planning stage. Planning is quite complex as it involves Nel, myself, and Jerome the rigger being available. Added to this are safe conditions - karri trees are notorious for dropping big limbs with no warning. These factors place severe restrictions on the precise location and time. This first session took, I think, four years since Nel first suggested the idea
Prints are for sale as fine limited edition archivally processed silver gelatine prints in rag board mats.Infra red film was chosen for the following images to enhance the feeling of unreality
