Nikon F cameras are renowned for their reliability, but they do have one vulnerability.

In 2000 I was photographing the Boorara Forest Protest in WA and a protestor, whom I shall call Jeff, was asleep in the sun with his jewels hanging out of his shorts.  Another protestor, whom I shall call Peta, picked up one of my Nikon Fs and photographed Jeff and his jewels - That was the last photograph that camera ever made, it was dismantled three times and rebuilt twice - Nothing is broken, nothing is worn, nothing is distorted, but that camera will not go back together and work.

I refrain from showing that final image.
